The Suzie Scarf

The Suzie Scarf

The Suzie Scarf is an easy crochet pattern, perfect for new crocheters as it uses basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, and simple color changes! This cozy scarf features a simple pattern repeat that is a cinch to learn, and produces a beautiful texture that looks gorgeous in both variegated and tonal colorways. The scarf featured in this pattern is stitched using worsted weight yarn by Daisy Stitch Co, although you are encouraged to experiment with different yarn weights – this stitch pattern will work with many different yarn weights!

What's in the pattern?

In the PDF pattern available for purchase in my Etsy shop, you'll find:

  • A detailed 24-page tutorial with 43 step-by-step color photos that teach you exactly how to crochet this scarf (including photos showing you where to place your hook and stitches!)
  • Instructions provided for creating the foundation chain, subsequent colorblocked rows, changing colors, weaving in all ends, and adding fringe
  • A comprehensive supply list
  • Tips that are written as if I'm teaching a good friend, so you'll encounter minimal abbreviations or crochet jargon
  • Instructions written in US terms

What stitches should I know?

Although the pattern's instructions are very detailed, I recommend you be familiar with the following stitches that are used in this scarf:

  • Foundation chain stitches
  • Slip stitches
  • Single crochet stitches
  • Double crochet stitches

How is this scarf pattern different from the thousands of others already out there?!

I have written my Suzie Scarf pattern as if I am teaching a good friend, and use straightforward instructions with minimal crochet jargon so you do not have to worry about deciphering the pattern while you stitch. I also include 43 color photos that accompany the step-by-step instructions, starting from the foundation chain to adding the fringe, so you can see exactly where to place your hook and stitches! Instructions for creating the foundation chain, subsequent colorblocked rows, changing colors, weaving in all ends, and adding fringe are included.

This scarf is also stitched according to measurements, rather than stitch counts or gauge, so you can easily customize your scarf for the perfect fit! A detailed size chart ranging from 3 Years to a Men’s Large is included, and I provide tips on how to adjust the width of your scarf to range from skinny to wide.

Am I able to sell items I make from this pattern?

Yes! You are welcome to sell anything you make from this pattern. However, I kindly request that you do not alter this pattern in any manner and distribute as your own. Please also use your own photos to advertise products made for sale. I strongly (but politely!) request that you give credit to my shop for the pattern and post a link if you sell online.

Where can I purchase the pattern?

You'll find this pattern available here in my Etsy shop. The Suzie Scarf is a companion piece for the Suzie Hat, and you can purchase both as a bundle for 10% off here.
