The Faces Behind Stitchery & Co.

Hi! I’m Allison, artist and maker of Stitchery & Co. Originally from the Lone Star State, I now live on a small farm in Central Texas with my best friend (aka husband) and daughter. I’ve always been a natural maker: my mother taught me how to press flowers nearly 20 years ago, and since then I’ve continued to supplement my formal arts education with the beautiful (and sometimes tangled) mess that is experimentation. My materials change frequently, and I am currently in love with the warm and fuzzy goodness that is fiber art.

Before welcoming our daughter, I worked as museum educator and art education specialist with over 10 years of experience in learner-centered program design, accessible arts-integrated educational experiences, and audience engagement. My work highlighted the intersections of visitor-driven interpretation, civic engagement, and innovative professional development for the K-12 community with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. I'll always be a museum wanderer at heart, and will forever adore learning about your favorite art places (museum and non!). Feel free to send suggestions from your hometown and around the world - they just might make it into our family's next travel itinerary!

About Stitchery & Co.

At Stitchery & Co., you will find crochet and embroidery patterns, projects, and notions for the modern and magical maker inspired by the things closest to my heart! I adore the magical realms of wizards and witches, home décor celebrating the seasons (and extra fun holidays, such as Halloween!), and the comfort that can be found in stitching an heirloom hat, scarf, or blanket. I take pride in creating unique patterns featuring straightforward instructions packed with helpful tips and tons of visuals (including step-by-step photos!). I hope these patterns will add a bit of joy and charm to your own world, and I cannot wait to see what you create!

When I founded Stitchery & Co. in 2020, I strove to create a space that could celebrate and amplify the hard work of fellow makers. As such, almost all of my patterns feature an independent yarn dyer or small business, each of which represent a woman-owned, LGBTQIA-owned, or BIPOC-owned shop.
