The Evie Socks | Crochet Pattern

11/06/2021

The Evie Socks crochet pattern is my go-to method for stitching the comfiest, lounge-around-the-house pair of socks (so much squish!). While not particularly difficult, the Evie Socks pattern is marked as an “Intermediate” level project because you will need to pay special attention to your stitch counts in the body of the sock to create the unique ribbed effect (which is produced by the alternating front and back post stitches). The Evie Socks are crocheted toe up and feature easy (and optional) color changes with my signature short-row heel.

About the Pattern

This pattern is written “recipe-style,” meaning that you will create your own sock recipe by recording the number of stitches, rounds, and rows you crochet for each section of the sock. While this may seem daunting, fear not – my instructions will carefully guide you through each step so you can customize this pattern to your individual foot size. In the pattern, I provide three starting sizes (Adult Small, Medium, and Large) to begin the Toe Box, and you will then be tailoring the socks’ dimensions to your feet.

This pattern is designed with fingering or sock weight yarn, and requires approximately 120 grams to complete a sock set.

What's in the pattern?

In this PDF pattern, you will find:

  • A detailed 50-page tutorial with 98 step-by-step color photos that teach you exactly how to crochet this sock set (including photos showing you where to place your hook and stitches!)
  • Instructions provided for crocheting all sections of the sock, including tips for washing, blocking, and sewing in all ends
  • A comprehensive supply list
  • Tips that are written as if I am teaching a good friend, so you will encounter minimal abbreviations or crochet jargon
  • Instructions written in US terms

What stitches should I know?

Although the instructions are very detailed, I recommend you be familiar with the following stitches that are used in this sock set:

  • Foundation chain single crochet stitches
  • Single crochet stitches
  • Slip stitches
  • Chain stitches
  • Double crochet stitches
  • Front and back post stitches
  • Working in the round

What sizes does this crochet pattern include?

While this pattern is fully customizable, I provide three suggested starting sizes to begin your sock: Adult Small (foot circumference 8 inches and under), Medium (8-9 inches), and Large (9-10 inches). These sizes are based on your foot circumference, not foot length or shoe size.

Am I able to sell items I make from this pattern?

Yes, you are welcome to sell anything you make from this pattern! Do not alter this pattern in any manner and distribute as your own. Please use your own photos to advertise products made for sale. I strongly (but politely!) request that you give credit to my shop for the pattern and post a link if you sell online.
